College of Nursing Lam Wah Ee

Motorola :  We were invited to take part in a health awareness programme organised by Motorola. We held an exhibition booth and provided free health screenings to the staff. Dato Seri Dr T Devaraj also gave a talk on cancer and Relay For Life, our annual cancer awareness and fund raising event.

Himmat Support Group:  We  set up a health/ cancer exhibition booth at the Persatuan Waddad Gurdwara Sahib Pulau Pinang to create awareness among their members. It was organised by the Himmat Support Group which is formed by a group of cancer survivors / carers.

Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia (MTC): Talk given to the staff and students - who are regular supporters of Relay!

Green Lung Carnival, University Science Malaysia We set up a booth to show our support in promoting a tobacco-free environment.

Tiong Hua Association, USM : In conjunction with “Philosophy Week”, 25 students from the Tiong Hua Association of Universiti Sains Malaysia requested us to hold a talk about cancer and hospice services in Penang.  Dr Lee Her Chin conducted the talk in Mandarin. The students were also introduced to Relay For Life.

Relay for Life 2010 takes the message about Fighting Cancer Together all over Penang. These are some of the events we have been to!

Universiti Utara Malaysia, Sintok, Kedah: Over 70 staff/students had their blood pressure and blood sugar tested.  25 students attended the Cancer/Relay For Life talk delivered by Ms Poh Lerk Shih, Team Recruitment Chairman.

Penang Medical College: We had a stall with lots of information about Relay. 18 students registered for RFL.

TAR College : Great days at TAR College, giving out calendar cards, info re cancer, and signing people up for Relay. 15 students registered for RFL.

OSK Investment Bank: We gave a talk about relay for Life; OSK sponsored 5K and registered 1team

Rotary Club of Penang: We were invited to give a talk at their  lunch meeting. Had a great time; showed the video; hopefully will recruit some participants. Rotary Club of Penang have been consistent supporters of Relay.

Queensbay Mall: We had a stall in the South Atrium, thanks to Queensbay. Gave away lots of info about cancer, Relay and the purple balloons!! Great to be there and we returned on April 17th for a second round!

HCL AXON Solutions Sdn Bhd invited us to give a talk. Good chance to meet new people and pass on the key messages. Thanks to HCL Axon and hopefully see you at Relay!

Radio-TV Malaysia (RTM ) interviewed Hospice At Home Programme  participants (doctors, nurses, patients, carers) for a future programme.

We took our exhibition to the Wadda Gurudwara Sahib  Penang in conjunction with Vasakhi celebration.

We were invited to give a talk to KDU College of Nursing, who are wonderful supporters of Relay! Their teams turn up in force and always bring a lot of energy and happiness and smiles! We had a great time and thanks to all who hosted us.

Queensbay Mall again:  Back at the South Atrium, distributing lots of Relay for Life material, and keeping kids mesmerised with our gorgeous balloons.

Little Penang Street Market:  We joined this monthly arts and crafts market, showed our exhibition and had a great time!

IJM Land : Gave a talk to IJM Land and signed up teams! Great to have you on board, everyone!

Penang Ferry: Four hours of chugging back and forth on the Penang Ferry. Great response from the crowds, they bought t-shirts, badges, took balloons and read about Relay and cancer! Thanks to Penang Port Commission for their wonderful support.

Youth Park - Spreading the word that we will be coming to Youth Park on June 5th and June 6th to celebrate! Lots of balloons and some great connections to survivors and others.

Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Perlis -  relay participated in an event in Perlis, taking our exhibition and the key messages! Thanks to our hosts in Perlis for inviting us - we had a great time!

We took our exhibition to Loh Guan Lye Hospital - many thanks to them for the opportunity.

Siang Pharmacy in Bukit Mertajam hosted our exhibition and we also gave a talk. Spreading the word is easier with great partners!

Malaysian Hindu Sangam hosted us for a talk.  !

We will be at the Penang Youth Park again, to publicise our event and also to hold our press conference. Check us out!
