Sponsorship in 2007

For the third Relay for Life, culminating in the celebration in the Youth Park in March 2007, we had wonderful support from corporate bodies and other organisations, including

Wawasan Open University, whose new presence in Penang opens up great opportunities for lifelong learning and providing an alternative route to getting qualifications compared to 'normal' universities. 

Flextronics, whose consistent support for causes like Relay for Life is a wonderful example of corporate social responsibility. Thank you.

The Rotary Club of Penang sponsored our posters, which you will see on display at the Exhibition Tent. 

EcoPak sponsored a large number of recyclable food disposal items - if you are in the food business you should check them out and help make our environment less polluted.

CGT Printers and Sight Multimedia for sponsorship of printed materials such as the food coupons and donation cards;

Gurney Plaza and Queensbay Mall and Tescos for hosting publicity events for Relay for Life - a big thank you to them for helping spread the messages of cancer.

Why you should sponsor

The incidence of cancer is high. Cancer probably already affects your employees, your customers, their friends and families. Getting involved in Relay for Life as a company or organisation will win you recognition as a key participant in the fight against cancer.

As a demonstration of social responsibility, involvement in Relay for Life will win you respect. Given that Relay for Life lasts some five months from Launch to actual Relay, it also provides an excellent time-frame for sponsorship mileage. It is a wonderful thing to do anyway but is also a great investment.

There are a number of ways you can get involved as a company or organisation:

• sponsoring Relay for Life materials, events or tents, where your name can be highlighted.

• forming one or more teams to take part in the Relay in March in Taman Perbandaran PP (Youth Park). Teams can choose their name and can design a (company) banner to carry on the day.

• organising a talk/exhibition about cancer – we can supply materials and speakers;

• showing the Relay for Life video to your staff or at a meeting;

• making a donation to Relay for Life.
