6.00 Opening Lap

Celebrating Survivorship: the first lap is walked by cancer survivors and their carers

8.00 Luminaria ceremony

Remembering loved ones: this special candle-lit ceremony will be followed by a candle-lit lap

8.45 Live stage entertainment

Come and revel in the talents that are part of Relay! Singing, dancing, magic - it's all part of the Relay fun!

12.00 - 7.00 Overnight

Fighting back: the 16 hour Relay symbolises our on-going fight against cancer. Plenty of fun to be had on track, with special laps and spot prizes throughout the night.

7.00am Sunday morning

Tug of War, special laps, prize ceremonies, haircutting fundraiser from Pewaju, live stage performances

9.45am Last Laps

Join us as we come to the last laps on yet another journey together in our fight against cancer.

Together we can make a difference

Joining Relay means you become part of the community fighting cancer together.

Whatever your role, it is important.

Over the years, the Relay community has grown to include teams, individuals, sponsors, supporters, volunteers, designers, donors - you name it - and from all walks of life.

Relay is both a campaign and an event, and in 'relaying' overnight at the Taman Perbandaran (Youth Park) we help remember that we are part of the on-going fight against cancer and that we journey with cancer survivors through their battle against cancer.

Relay for Life had a small celebration in August to thank key sponsors, volunteers, team leaders, committee members and others.

And we celebrated our sponsors. These included (for 2011)

Shangri-La Rasa Sayang's Resort and Spa were our Launch sponsors; PBA are our water (bottle) sponsors; and MPPP our venue sponsors.

And we celebrated survivorship and the hard work of our Survivor Committee. The committee Chair and long-time member of NCSM Penang Branch, Madam Mui Siew Koon, was chosen last year as an International Hero for Hope in the International Relay for Life community - a huge honour for her and for all of us. Syabas, Mdm Mui!
